Deepika Padukone has undoubtedly allured everyone with her Tamil accent in Chennai Express but she confesses that it wasn’t as easy as ABC getting the Tamil accent right.
Deepika Padukone reveals that director Rohit Shetty cast her in the role of Priya in the movie Chennai Express because of her South Indian acquaintance. She said that the look was not difficult, she thinks getting the accent was the toughest thing. In fact, there was a day when they went to set and almost an entire shift went in trying to figure out the accent and getting that right. But once they got that right, it was fun.
Deepika Padukone’s life experiences helped her sound accurate. The actress said, “Every experience I’ve had with a Tamilian in Bangalore has eventually paid off.” Deepika said that being back to her native city Bangalore, is the best part as she can go to her own room at home and feast upon South Indian delicacies such as masala dosa and upma. Rasam rice is Deepika padukone’s favourite.
Asked about her ex Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika said that she hopes to be acting in an another movie with him soon. Deepika said that she is glad that Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani brought them together in a magical way and that hopefully something special will come their way. And she also cleared out the rumour of her acting as a supermodel in a Madhur Bhandarkar banner. She said that she isn’t appearing as a supermodel in a Madhur Bhandarkar film. “There’s been nothing official” she said.
